教案: Teaching plan for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

                      

Teaching objectives:

By the end of the lesson, we are able to

  1. get the main idea and the main plot of the story.

  2. List the difficulties the main characters met and find out their solutions

  3. Find out the main characters personalities(品质)

  4. Draw mind-maps for our favorite chapters and share them to class.

    Teaching difficulties:

  5. Students learn ti find out the main characterspersonalities by analyzing the relevant materials.

  6. Draw proper mind-maps to summarize the relevant information.

    Teaching important points:

    Students master some ways to conduct appreciative reading.

    Teaching process

    Step 1:  Leading in

    Have students list the main characters of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

    Step 2: Discussion

    Task 1: Have students discuss the question:

    Which character(人物)impressed (留下印象)you most?Why?

    I think _____impressed me most because___________________.

    Task 2:What's the main idea(大意) of the book

     

    Step 3: conclude Dorothy’s path

    choose the right places and complete(补全)Dorothy’s path(路线)

    The way for Dorothy to go back home is ___________________.

     

    Step 4:Complete the following mind-map

    Have students complete the mind-map in chapter 5 a ditch and a river and a meadow of big Scarlet

    At last have them conclude”_______________is important!”

    Task 1: Which chapter(章节)/part of the book do you like best?Why?
